St. Anicet – Via Lotbiniere and Huntingdon, Canada

<< Montreal

>>North Hudson, NY

After losing his land outside of Trois Riviers, Michel obtained another grant, this one in Lotbinier, where he lived out the remainder of his life. His descendants lived, died, and married on the south side of the St. Lawrence River. They were married to people who came from many different cities/parishes in New France – many were residents on Montreal island, which in the 17th and 18th centuries was comprised of many small villages/parishes. By the 1870’s, the descendants had settled in St. Anicet, a farming community on the south bank of the St. Lawrence River just north of the New York State border.

In 1875 Alexander LeMay dit DeLorme married Josephine Quineville. Shortly afterward they moved to North Hudson. In November??? of 1975 they purchased a farm whose southern boundry was the town line of Scroon. Border was western border was the Schroon River picture below. It probably appears now as it did back then as there has been no development in the area.
