Four-in-hand Fiasco
The four Welsh ponies galloped toward the water hazard at the first Laurels at Landhope. The crowd in the spectator area watched, waiting for the first big splash. Instead, there was a crazy flurry of dainty flying hooves as they refused to go in, creating a tangle to be undone by the grooms as the driver patiently waited. A dance I’ve never forgotten.
