DeLorm Homesteads – Town of North Hudson – Joseph – September 1875

DeLorme Homesteads – Town of Schroon – Alex and Daniel – November 187

Alexander and Josephine (newlyweds) DeLorm moved to a farm on the Schroon River just after they were married up in St. Anicet, Canada. I wonder if Josephine had to help build the log Cabin they may have lived in. One of the old-timers we spoke to on our 2023 trip seemd to remember a log cbin up there as he called North Hudson.

Alexander’s brother Daniel also had a home here, just north of the town line from from Schroon.

Today the land is part of the huge Adirondack Park, which covers almost all of northern New York State. A small portion of that Adirondack Park has been turned into the Frontier Land State Park, the site from which these pictures were taken. This small part is on the grounds of the former home of Frontier Land Wild West Theme Park. Frontier Land Park is now a site for equine events as well as camping.

In the same time frame Alex’s brothers Daniel and Joseph moved to the area.

From land records it appears that Joseph moved first, and the Alex and Daniel followed

Current Resident of Schroon area is Clifford DeLorme who can be traced back to Joseph DeLorme
