Census forms from 1901 and 1911 show that Margaret lived in 1901 on the farm with her unmarried 32 year old son Patrick, and then in 1911 with her single son William who in 1911 was 33.  Here is a link to the Irish census files: Irish Census File on-line
From our visit to the ruins of the cottage and farm we saw that behind the house is a hill overlooking Hollymount. Across the road is a flat field extending to the railway line at the far end, and beyond the railroad, to the peat bog where the family cut and dried the turf they used for cooking and heating.

The records show that Margaret had a cottage that was made of stone, had a thatched roof and three windows in the front. For out buildings she had a stable, cow shed and a barn. On these 6 acres she and her husband raised 7 children.
