Delorme and Manley families lived in the Bronx in the 1940’s

The DeLorme’s were in Woodlawn and Eastchester, the Manley’s in Bedford Park (204th Street and Perry Avenue was Grandma Manley’s apartment in the 1950’s)

Mom DeLorme would talk about going down to Fordham Road to go shopping

DeLorme and Ross family members would talk about climbing over the fences to get into the Botanical Gardens

Pete DeLorme still remembers his brother Michael, on a dare from his cousins Billy and John Manley, driving Pete’s Volkswagen SuperBeetle into and around the walkways of the Res Oval.

Going to Grandma’s for Sunday dinner was an opportunity to lay on her living room floor and watch Lawrence Welk on the TV. She finally got it after Grandpa Manley refusal to buy a TV because it was going to ruin the baseball industry.

Pete would sometimes overnight a Grandma Manley’s when he was attending Brooklyn Prep

Wow, writing this is pretty reveling about how much I don’t know about family history.

What did Mom and Dad do between high school and the war

What did Mom do during the war after her Dad refused to let her go to Washington, DC wo work for the War Department.

When did Dad go to NYU and what was he studying

Francis J DeLorme met Margaret C Manley in the Manley’s family Church, St. Brendans

Dad attended Fordham Prep where he ran track an earned the medals Pete still has.
